Tripura Sundari Temple-It is a Place of Pilgrimage and Historical Importance.

The Tripura Sundari Temple is located from outside Udaipur town is about 3 km away. Udaipur is about 55km from Agatala. Udaipur is south district headquarter. The Tripura Sundari Temple is most popular temple in Tripura as well as other state of India. The average pilgrims or visitors in Tripura Sundari Temple are about 2000 in every day. Religious Significance:-The Tripura Sundari Temple is one of the 51 pithas or shaktipeeths sacred to the tantras, so its religious significance is greater than any other temples in the state. But people from all society, irrespective of religion, caste, language to gather around this place for pilgrimage, and this the most salients features of Tripura Sundari Temple.

As per Hindu mythology, the Lord Vishnu had cut the body of the “Mata Sati” into 51 pieces by Sudarshan Chakra and all the pieces felt into differents places throughout the country and these places are known as Pithasthan. It is said that, right foot of the Mata Sati felt in Matabari.

History of the Temple: - King Dhany Manikhya was built by Tripura Sundari Temple. According to the Rajmala, King Dhanya Manikhya was arranged for a “Vastupuja” ceremony to build a Vishnu temple at the site of the present day temple. It was said that, from the beginning of the construction, one night the King received a divine message from Devi Bhagavati in his dreams. Then, he was instructed to fetch the idol of the Goddess from Chittagong now in Bangladesh and to install it at the new temple. As per message, the King sent his General Rasangamardan to Chittagong in order to bring the idol. The idol was brought from Chittagong and it was immediately not enshrine because the construction of the temple was not completed, the temple or monastery was completed after some time and the idol of the Goddess has installed with complete sacred scripturals and King Dhanya Manikya was dedicated the temple in the name of the holy Goddess, and now a days, place or sites named Matabari. Besides that, there are lots of history was perceived in respects of devi-idol.

Inside the temple, the idol of the Maa Kali was kept which is made of raddish black kasticpathar; Maa Kali is still worshipped in her “Soroshi’ forming of his temple. There is an idol of smaller size of Maa Kali which has called “Chotto Maa Kali’ and this image are used to be carried by Maharajas of Tripura during the Mrigaya namely hunting and war. According to hearsay, Chhoto Maa has worshipped by one and all before Devi Tripura Sundari came up.

Location of Matabari: - Matabari is located approximately 3 km south to Udaipur town. The temple is built on a small hillock which is convex shaped, is almost like a tortoise, also referred to as Kurmapitha. It is popularly known as the Temple of the Tripura Sundari or Matabari among the people of Tripura. From that time, the area adjacent to the temple which was named as Matabri. Presently, the block also constituted in the name of Matabri Block.

Kalyansagar: - The Kalyan Manikya (1625-1660) has been built the Kalynsagar which is a big pond on the east sides of the temple. There is a fishes and tortoises of huge size are found and devotees fed them with muri and biscuits, and also fed the meat of tortoise and fishes in every day. No fishing is allowed in the Kalyasagar.

The Matabari Fair: - Every year a fair is being held at Matabari during the time of Dewali / Depawali. In this Fairs, more than two lakhs pilgrims is gather around there.

How to reach in Tripura Sundari Temple: - The Tripura Sundari Temple is about 58km from Agartala, one can catch the buses from Nagerjola Motor stand which is frequently available, and private car is also available on hiring basis for getting Matabari.

There is a Horticulture Research Centre which about 24 km on the Madikeri-Siddapur–Virajpet road and it is the best month to visit in this centre from March to April, as it is the best coffee blossom time in Coorg.

Trekking:-Trekking is wonderful experience in the Coorg. White water rafting on the Barapole River, South Coorg from June to October and on river Cauvery in Brahmagiri from mid-June to mid-September. The river Valannoor which draws attention to fishing lovers all over the country and is best seasons is from October to May. The Puspagiri Kottebetta etc are populars trekking spots. The trekking seasons will starts in November and it will end till March in every year.

Feasts in Coorg: - The non- vegetarians is very famous in Coorgi cuisine. It is specialty is meats, pork and other delicious ingredients. Main populars dishes are pandhi (pork), Koli (chicken), Yarchi (lamb) which is prepared by spiced with pepper, kokum, bamboo shoot, red chilly etc.

By road:- Private buses are from Mysore, it is about 120km from Coorg, Hassan is 115 km from Coorg, Mangalore 135 km, Bangalore 250 km to Coorg.

Bastar- A New Destination for the Travelers.

MONPAS-Colourful Tribes in Arunachal Pradesh.

The Monpas is one of the colourful tribes in Arunachal Pradesh. They are living in the Twang District. The land is known as ‘Monyul’ because of low land lying dwelled by Monpas tribes.

The Monpas are Buddhist by religion and Tawag monastery is fountain head of their spiritual lives. Inhabitants of the district are all of Monpa Tribes except Shyo village which is dominated by peoples of Tibetian originate. Monpass is belonging to “Mongoloid Race”. They are well built, fair in complexion. Their houses are built with stone, and timber, bamboo ceiling, curved wooden doors, and wooden framers. They lives cozy double stored residential house Agriculture and animal husbandry are the fundamental it is means of the Monpas occupation. They follow terrace of cultivation.They also have Yak, sheep, other lives stock. Twang monastery is one of the most important elements in the social and religious life of the Monpas. The Monpas tribe is predominantly ‘Gelukpa Sects’ of Mahayana stream of Buddhism. The monastery is known as “Galden Namgyel Lhatse” is one of the most Largest Lama series of “Mahayana’ sect in Asia. Lama series is comprised of several sections ranging near about four hundred years, devoted to Love, Learning and purely of life. The Monpas are courteous, friendly, simple and hospitable. Their traditional dresses are very colourful. They are artistic by nature. Wood curving works, utensils are made by bamboo looking exquisitely beautiful. They have an earned niche for themselves “Thanka Paintings” and hand made paper making. Marriage by negotiation in common practice in Monpas society.

Losar Festival: - The ‘Losar Festival’ is celebrated by the Monpas in every year in five days. It is the festival of New Year of the monpas tribes. On the occasion of the festival, the Monpas tribes are clean of their houses and discard the old. The dirt and grit of the old year is considered to symbolize the ill health. During five days festival the Monpas are pray in the monastery for their good health, prosperity, and well living in the next year. They are also hoisted the religious flag at the top of their houses. During the festival, the Monpas tribes are used to visits to their friends and relatives, near and dearer ones.

Social Life: - The Monpas communities are greatly influenced by the Lamas, is a Tibetian Monk in their day to day life. In every social life, the Lama guidance and religious advice is very important of the Monpas society. To respect and honoure of the Lama in every spheres of social life is very important to Monpas tribes. Lamas are being invited for religious functions, birth and deaths, marriage and constructions of the new houses etc.

Village Council: - Each Monpas villages have a democratic set up of village council which is called Tsobla headed by a Tsorgan- the village head and the Thumi (messenger). In respect of civil and criminal cases are settled by Tsorgan in consultation with the Tsobla. It is said that, Thumi acts as a messenger between the defendants and the complaints. The village council is greatly influenced and guided by the monasteries and their Lamas (Tibetian Buddhist monk).

Handicraft: - The carpet making is specialty of the Monpas. Carpet with exotic design of the dragons, geometrics and flora pattern are made by the Monpas. Carpets’ weaving has a major occupation with the women folks and with an increased in demand. The Monpas are now producing large scales beautiful carpets. The Monpas wood carver scopes out beautiful cups dishes fruits bowls, and magnificent ceremonia marks for dances and the pantomimes.

After all, the Monpas are friendly, and possess a rich cultural heritage. They put well dress and artificially design cloths. They follow Buddhism and Profess Mahayana Buddhism.

The Climate Conditioned of Mizoram: - Mizoram has a very pleasant climate. In the winter it has 11 to 21 degree centigrade in summer the weather is average 20 to 30 degree centigrade.
