It is a headquaters of His Holiness Dalai Lama, it is located snow Dhauladhar ranges to form magnificent hill resorts and it is under the Kangra district with dense pine forests, numerous streams, cool healthy air, and attractive surroundings and nearby snowline. How to reach in Dharamsala: - one can go by air from Delhi to Dharamsala. The nearest airport is Gaggal which is 13 km away from Dharamsala and 85 km away from rail station and toy train station is Kangra which is 17 km away from Dharamsala. On can go to Dharamsala by taxis and buses and it takes about 3 hours drive from Pathankot or you can go to by luxury buses from Delhi via Chandigarh, Kiratpur, Bilashpur and it takes 12 hours journey. Alternatively, you can go to Delhi and Shimla Luxury buses. Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation Ltd operates a regular luxury coach from Delhi to Dharamsala.
Condition of Climate: - During summer the climate is mild and light woolens/ cottons are recommended and during winter temperature can drop to freezing point so that heavy woolens clothes are required.
