Statue of Liberty’s crown to open to visitors of New York City.

The crown of the Statue of Liberty,closed to the public since the terrorist attacks of September11,2001, reopened in the month July 4,this year.The statue, a gift to the United States from France,was shipped in the pieces to New York in1885.The complete statue was to dedicated in October,1886,and since than was stood in New York Harbor on what is known as Liberty Island.Access to the crown will be limited10 People at a time,guided by National Park Service ranger.The crown is accessible only by a narrow168-step double-helix spiral staircase.Although the crown has been closed to the public since the attacks since 9/11,the base, pedestal and lower observation deck have since been reopened to the public.

Fleet of futuristic trains to link Italian tourist hotpots.

Nauvoo Transporto Viaggiatori,a high speed train operator in Italy is set to operate a fleet of 25 futuristic-looking trains,traveling a speed of up to225 mph.The new services will launch in early 2011 linking cities such as Turin,Milan,Bologna,Florence Naples, Bari and Rome and will reduce journey time by up to a third.The journey from Rome to Milan will fall from more than four hours to three hours.The interiors will be designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro,Italian car designer who has crafted machine such as Ferraris,Maserratis and Lamborghinis.

New museum at Acropolis opened in the month of June20,2009.

A new museum at the UN World Heritage Site of Acropolis will opens its door to the public on June 20.The admission of the museum will cost only Euro1 for the first sixmonth.On the new museums first level, raised glass floors offer a view of sixth century BC on the second,the Archaic gallery is filled with freestanding ancient statues of female figures; and the third is crowing box; built the same dimension as the Parthenon, in which the Athenian-held sanctions of the frieze are displayed with reproductions. Sitting at the foot of the Acropolis, the glass and concrete museum is the centerpiece of Greece’s campaign for the return of the Elgin Marbles from the British Museum has repeatedly refused to relinquish the 2,500-year-old sculptures, which formed part of the Parthenon’s decoration until Scottish diplomat Lord Elgin removed them 200 years ago.

Rome opens up new sites for summer for the Tourists.

The city of Rome is opening up some 30 archaeological sites, mostly in the underground, including temples,gladiator barracks and Vatican necropolice.Most sites will remain open through the summer.Guided tours will escort holiday makers to heritage sites such as the Ludus Magnus,where gladiators lived and trained for in the adjacent Colosseum,or the necropolis buried under the Vetican.Among the other sites are a 2,000-year-old aqueduct which is still used to bring water to parts of the city, the headquarters of ancient Rome’s firefighters and several pagan sanctuaries.
