Itinerary to Dharmanagar and Pecharthal:-Wonderful Experience and Enjoyment.


Started as on 5th April, 2011 along with my cousin brother Sri Sijan Chakma, whom is also have a personal car, love travel and would like to interest to visit new place to gets new experience and enjoyment. We have started for Dharmanagar from Agartala at 9am and reached there at 3pm.On way to Pecharthal and Dharmanagar, we have decided to stop for refreshment and have some bittlenauth at Champaknagar town and fortunately we have meets one of his friends, he provided bittlenauth from this particular shop and paid for it. The bittlenauth is very popular in champaknagar town in compare to other shop of entire area. It is very much popular for its sweetness, good pan, mixture of ingredients etc. It is says that, once the peoples to have bittlenauth from these particulars shop, he/ she never forget to have bittlenauth again. Then we have started for Dharmanagargar from Champaknagar via 44 national highways. On way to Dharmanagar, we have enjoy very much, especially scenic view of the hills areas and wonderful landscapes like Baramura, Aataramura, Longtrai hills etc and its covered by the green forest. This is really excellent scenic beauty. Ones can not forget to see such a scenic beauty covered by green forests and sometimes wide range of hills range. One of the most interesting views is that of traditional houses of tribal peoples whom are residing both side of the highway, the houses is made of bamboo tree etc. After a long hours journey we have reached in manughat and decided to stop Manughat for sometimes and took tea there and it was just 1pm. Manughat is tri-junction and is a small town- cum- model villages. Then we have started at 1.15pm from Manughat and our journey is not finish until we could reach in Dharmanagar. On way to Dharmanagar we could enjoy scenic view of green forest, roadside houses, landscapes, beautiful paddy field etc, we passed on villages like, karamchara, 82 miles, Masli, Kumarghat, Pecharthal, Nabinchara, Panisagar etc. We reached at Dharmanagar at 3pm. It is stated that, Sri Bishal Chakma, is a cousin brother and friend of mind and along with his spouse namely Ms Banadevi Chakma and nephew master Sunang Chakma are waiting for welcomes to us. One cannot forget for their healthful entertainments and careness and their style of entertaintment and refreshments is unforgettable. Ms Banadevi have made traditional Chakma foods which most of the items are made of dry fish especially shedol, berma and various types of dry fish and personally I like it very much. We have refreshed by the Scotch whisky like Teacher’s brand, just to have two to three packs before launch and after sometimes, we took lunch which is too late and it was just 4pm and had lunch with various items or dishes especially made for us, it is unforgettable and unimaginable, for style of cooking and tasty. Non- vegetable items like fish, chicken and pork are also cooked very well.

Let’s come say another story; we have stayed three night and four days at Bishal’s house in Dharmanagar. During these long periods we have enjoyed very much in respect of foodings, entertaintment, and we had used to take whisky like Jhony Walker red level and Teacher brand, while having these whiskies we used take diced like slice apple, grapes, and even sometimes fish fry. Second days staying, we have visited Pecharthal, is a town-cum-model village, and mostly inhabited by the Chakmas tribes and it is a main tri-junction leading to three Sub-Divisions which known as Dharmanagar, Kailashahar and Kanchanpur. There is famous Buddhist Temple named ‘Buddha Vihar’ is very esteemed religious place situated in Kanchanpur Sub-Division. Three days long ‘Buddha Mela’or festivals is held in the month of May every year for worship of Lord Gautam Buddha in this temple. Natural panorama and meditation zone makes it an aesthetic destination. Pecharthal is about 160km away from Agartala. From these place, one can go to Jumpui Hill, is an excellent tourist spot and other way to Guwahati and Shillong. The Pecharthal is mostly inhabited by the Chakma Tribes. This day we have visited to brother-in-law house, and uncle house. We had refresh by the whisky like Teacher brand along with chicken curry which is made of less spicy, and make it very tasty. Later we returned back in Dharmanagar at 8pm. After 3 days long tour we retuned back in Agartala as on 8th of April, 2011.
