Pilak is situated under Belonia sub division of south Tripura district. In this place it has been discovered the Buddha, Shiva, Surya sculpture. Pilak is 110km from Agartala, the capital city of Tripura. Some times it has been found arechological treasure in the Pilak site after excavation of ground soil.
The treasure house of Hindu and Buddha sculpture dates backs to 8th and 9th centuries .The Pilak still excavated by archeological Survey of India, and accordingly they are getting sculpture and images of terracotta.
The images of terracotta plaque and scaling found here in which reflect survival of heterodox creeds and sects and its representing both Hiduism and Buddhism.The images of Avolokiteshwar and Narashima have been found here. Every year Information Cultural Affairs and Tourism Department,in collaborations with local administration have been organized “Pilak Festival” in every year to boost up Tourism Sector in Tripura as well as in India, and the domestics and foreign tourists .
